The coating
Polyaspartic is a type of polyurea coating that cures in hours instead of days and does not yellow in sunlight. We use it in three ways, depending on the floor and how soon you need it back.

An epoxy base and flake layer build thickness, and a clear polyaspartic topcoat seals them. You get the body of epoxy with a surface that stands up to UV and hot tires.

Base coat and topcoat are both polyaspartic, so the floor cures faster from start to finish. A fit for rentals and households that cannot give up the garage for long.

Compare
Epoxy and polyaspartic work best as partners. Epoxy builds a thick, hard base for less money and gives installers more working time. Polyaspartic cures much faster, stays clear under UV and grips hot tires without lifting.
The tradeoff is time on the floor. Because polyaspartic sets quickly, it is mixed in small batches and spread fast, so prep and crew experience matter more with it than with epoxy.
For most Grand Strand garages we recommend an epoxy or polyaspartic base with a polyaspartic topcoat. Indoors and out of the sun, an epoxy topcoat can be enough. Our garage floor coating page shows the flake systems we build with both.

Sun and heat
Sun is the reason polyaspartic ends up on so many coastal floors. Here is where it earns its place:

Why us
Fast-curing coatings leave little room for error. Here is how we handle that:
Batches sized for the weather:
We mix polyaspartic in small batches and adjust for the heat and humidity on the day.
Ground concrete every time:
The slab is diamond ground so the coating bonds to open, clean concrete.
Straight system advice:
If epoxy or a hybrid fits your floor better, we tell you.

How it works
Speed is the point of polyaspartic, but the prep gets the same care as any system we install.
We measure the area, look at cracks and old coatings, and take a moisture reading to confirm the slab can take a fast-curing system.
The surface is ground to an open profile, and the dust is vacuumed so nothing gets trapped under the coating.
Cracks and chips are filled with a fast-setting repair material and ground flush. Slabs with wide damage get concrete resurfacing first.
The base coat is mixed and rolled in sections sized for the temperature, so it never sets before it is spread.
Flake is broadcast into the wet base, or a tinted coat goes on for a solid finish. Loose chips are scraped and vacuumed.
The clear topcoat goes on last. We tell you when you can walk on the floor and when you can drive on it.
Pricing
Polyaspartic usually costs more per square foot than epoxy. These are the factors that set the price:

Questions
HomeGuide (2026) lists polyaspartic floor coating at $5 to $12 per square foot installed nationally, about $2,000 to $6,900 for a two-car garage. These are market ranges, not a quote. Your Myrtle Beach price depends on the size, the prep and the system, and we give it to you after a free on-site estimate.
In a sunny Myrtle Beach garage, a polyaspartic topcoat is usually the better finish because it resists UV and hot tire pickup. Epoxy still makes a strong, lower-cost base, and many garage systems combine the two.
Polyaspartic cures much faster than epoxy, and many floors are back in use within one to two days instead of most of a week. Foot traffic comes first and vehicles later. Heat and humidity in Myrtle Beach change the timing, so we give you the dates for your floor.
Yes. Because it is UV-stable, polyaspartic is one of the coatings we use on Myrtle Beach porches, lanais and pool areas. Outdoors we add a textured finish for grip and check that water drains off the slab.
Sometimes. If the old epoxy is well bonded, we can sand or grind it and add a polyaspartic topcoat. If it is peeling or lifting, it has to come off first. We check the bond at your Myrtle Beach estimate before we recommend either path.
